Poem
They journeyed long the way to love not straight as science rule; To scale high peaks that merged into the wispy mountain dew; Over green hills, past forest trees - gale winds would shake and bend; Through scorching suns or driving rains to reach their journeys end. Unknown to him her witching had ensured against all failings; She breathed desire, stoked his fire and set to right his wings. And there before the Pawpatu - the stone of truth and sage; She knew that lies, disguise or guile would not gain them passage. "For all who come and all who stand before me be aware; Know all your woes and saddened throes shall find no comfort here; Truth and beauty, kind respect and honour reigns supreme; Each creature finds a mate within each King will find a Queen" The Witch spoke softly to the Dragon for to gain his trust; "I am the one who made you sleep and seeded such a lust. But sleeping dreams can only show what your heart truly craves, To find your Queen and enter here sing of your love - be brave!" "I am that Dragon wild and free that challenged men should fear; But maidens pure of heart and soul are those for whom I care; I hear the siren's call and grace her lilting, playful winds; Hugging inconstant flows and ebbs caressing faithful wings; But know you that the treasure that I need is not a thing; My Queen embosomed here is why my heart is now aching; Mythical in all sphere of knowledge, mystical through time; My Queen has an intrinsic beauty, sensual and refined; She weaves a power that all beings struggle to access; A flame of such intense intelligence I care to caress. Our lover’s duet, flight of fancy, did lead me to here; For that true love have I now come my life with her to share. I am a Dragon seeking love and bound to please her will; Give me that vision of my dreams that gave me such a thrill; I beg to let me once again see my true love's visage; And I will surely serve this realm with honour and courage" The Witch now sat upon the seat she had stitched on the loom; Dressed as she left in all the finest regal pomp and plume; And by her side her Handsome, too with crown upon his head; Who glistened with the darkest skin and eyes a burning red. His was a suit of ebony, the smoothest ever suede; Where diamond studs adorned the folds such for a King be made. They drank, sang each a loving ode then skipped the fire bright; They disappeared into the woods to set all stitches right.
