Poem
(Verse 1) It was a night just like no other, Two hearts collided, fate’s silent lover. The world said “no,” but they took the leap, A secret kept, a promise to keep. One week together, yet forever changed, Two families torn, but hearts still unchained. In the dark, on a chance summer night, A spark was born that would burn so bright. (Pre-Chorus) They went their ways, the years moved on, But the love they shared never felt gone. He knocked on her door with a heart full of fear, Hoping that she’d be waiting here. (Chorus) Oh, Chance Summer, written in the stars, A love that healed, no matter the scars. From a fleeting night to a lifetime found, Love’s the kind of magic that turns things around. One Chance Summer, where it all began, A boy, a girl, and a love that’ll never end. (Verse 2) Seven years old, I heard the tale, How love can rise, even when it’s frail. How fate returned, and brought them back, Two hearts, one chance, on a golden track. Mom looked at me, her eyes full of pride, “Chance, you’re the reason love never died.” And that’s when I knew, with a heart that believed, Love’s the kind of magic you can’t deceive. (Pre-Chorus) So now I write, I sing my truth, For the love I’ve known, and the love I choose. Every line, every rhyme, takes me back, To that summer night, love never lacked. (Chorus) Oh, Chance Summer, written in the stars, A love that healed, no matter the scars. From a fleeting night to a lifetime found, Love’s the kind of magic that turns things around. One Chance Summer, where it all began, A boy, a girl, and a love that’ll never end. (Bridge) Here’s to chance, to the moments we find, To the love that waits, through the twists of time. If you’re lost, don’t worry, love will find you too, It’s been waiting all along, just like it waited for you. (Chorus) Oh, Chance Summer, written in the stars, A love that healed, no matter the scars. From a fleeting night to a lifetime found, Love’s the kind of magic that turns things around. One Chance Summer, where it all began, A boy, a girl, and a love that’ll never end. (Outro) One Chance Summer... love’s where it all began... NOTE: Many good friends over the years have referred to me as Lyric Man because of my absolute passion for lyrics. But obviously, that’s not a real name. Now you know my name and my story.. Chance Summer. If you enjoy the song, and consider me a friend, feel free to call me Chance.. every time I hear the name it reminds me of the power of love. Bless you all!
