Inspired by Shakespear quote “Now is the winter of our discontent”
(Richard III, Act 1, Scene 1)


Your face in the polar wind 	
glinted with the hues of sparkling snow,  
emitting the enthralling aura of love, 
I saw painted on your floral face of splendor, 
the petals unfurling the finesse of charisma 
in the cryptic contours of your smile.
Lest it withered away in the sink of oblivion 
I kept it framed in my frosted memory.

In the cradle of the reclined barren boughs,
displaying the fine filigree of skeletal lattice,
with love-laced twigs I made a delicate design
for the nest of my adoring yearning for you.

The wilted leaves of my fervent longing 
wafted in the polar winds of despair,
blew away on the wings of the winter of discontent  
to the cold cauldron of nowhere.
Enwrapped by the dismal air in my frosty nest, 
I counted in my distressed heartbeats 
the footsteps of the despondent dusk,
I walked with my desolate love.

My yearning turned into a glacial embrace,
you disappeared from the congealed fold of icy love,
flew away far to your sun-soaked sky. 
Forsaken in freezing darkness of the arctic nest, 
I lived with the petrified feather you left
in the frozen memory lost disgruntled
in the melancholic mist of winter.
