Inspired by The Lucky One, starring the lovely Taylor Schilling and inimitable Zac Efron. A beautiful and moving story. Life is precious and amazing. Let's appreciate it. "Sometimes finding the light means passing through the deepest darkness." The Lucky One By Michelle Morris 06/01/2025 I was in a war zone, sweetheart When I found your picture in the dirt I became The Lucky One Surviving every bullet and hurt Like a Secret Talisman Like a Guardian Angel sent from above Your photograph kept me safe Your Spirit kept me loved Even though we hadn't met yet Even though we were worlds apart I carried my Gratitude for you each day I carried it deep in my Heart And when I returned to civilian life I walked many miles to meet you I wanted to thank you in person But when we met, my words were muted I couldn't bring myself to say them I couldn't find the courage to share Instead I worked for you And appreciated the chance to care Yes, there I found a Peace Yes, there I found some Comfort I melted my Fear and Isolation I melted into your arms and pure Love Our Love Story may not be perfect But our Love Story is truly unique And my Love for you is everlasting It's a connection strong and deep And one day when we're old and grey And we look back on our lives We can thank the lovely stars above For urging our Souls to be inspired © Michelle Morris, 2025
