Poem
A starman travelling through space and time. I bear witness to great earth's decline. Whilst travelling in my time machine. You won't believe the sights I've seen. We can travel now at the speed of light, and what I've seen, it's not a pretty sight! We have the ability to travel, to find new worlds. Where a place we can call home has been unfurled. There was a war on earth with much bloodshed, the earth we once knew is grey and dead. Never in a lifetime did I think I would see, The devastation caused by World War III. Who had their finger on the button? Civilization gone, with no discussion! Warmongers, their leaders, their power, their greed. The death of humanity is to what they succeed. The power of greed, a lust for control. The destruction of life, has stolen earth's soul. A lesson is learned, at the highest cost? The fragility of life, on earth it is lost! Where once life thrived up on this blue planet, It is now turned to ash in a world made of granite. As I'm leaving this earth, I look back into space. The grey reflection of a globe is a dead, lifeless place. A trepidation of hope in pastures that's new. You are leaving behind a life you once knew. A new life on a planet, we are starting afresh. Let's learn from our errors after making such mess! As we rid this new world of our leaders of old. We lead as brothers and sisters. It's a sight to behold. A world where we've learnt from mistakes that we've made. With the love and the hope in foundations, we've laid. I look back with reflection on the Earth left behind. The destruction and darkness that was left by mankind. From galaxy to galaxy, as we seek to explore, I've seen the impact of a war that has ripped to the core. In a message of faith, let's hope the children don't lose it. We give a message of hope. Let's hope the children do use it. We destroyed our own planet, that is some bitter pill. When I think of the time that the Earth it stood still.
