Hope, is in the evensong
That lifts us to a new high
Its the reason to hold our breath 
To laugh, to smile, to sigh.

Hope is a whistled tune
That flutters around our head
The words that comfort the soul
The petalled road ahead

Hope is a child's first step
A thank you in the rain
A kiss that soothes a troubled mind
That eases all our pain

Hope is the sunrise
That draws a fresh new day
The reason to believe
The map to find our way

Hope is the ring of a bell
When man has found a cure
When fingered prayer feeds the need
To relieve what we endure

Hope is our tomorrow
A lesson from today
That conjures every miracle
To fill in the words we say

Hope is the manna
That feeds a determined soul
The delicate bird that visits
With a song to make us whole

Hope is the breakthrough
The invisible gift we give
The force that lies within us
The reason we have to live

Hope is the mystery 
Without it, it is poorer still
For if hope deserts us now
It removes our very will
