Mi a di dog pon di corner, mi bark an’ mi moan
But di people pass mi by, mi feel all alone.
Dem use mi fi guard di place but fi mi work, dem never pay!
But mi suffer in silence while di care mi need nuh deh dey.

Dem nuh see mi pain; mi sick but mi get no help
Mi cry out fi some comfort but dem just yawn an’ yelp.
Dem say "Money too tight fi spend pon dog,"
But mi guard dem house from di morning till di fog.

Di vet nuh come when mi wish fi some relief,
Cause di people grumble bout di cost an seh dem naa tun tief.
Mi bones dem ache an’ mi fur get thin,
But mi still protect di yard, though mi feel di win’.

Di picknie dem passin' mi yard, dem throw stone an' tease
An’ mi hear di elders say, "Dogs nuh need no ease."
But when di night fall, an’ di darkness come 'round,
Mi a di one who stand firm, mi nuh back down.

Mi remember di days when mi was young an' spry,
When mi bark was a melody; now it is just a sigh.
Mi feel di neglect, di cruelty an' di scorn
But mi still do mi duty from di dusk till di morn.

Mi want di people fi know, mi have mi feelings too
Mi need mi care an' respect, just like dem do.
Mi loyalty nuh mean mi fi suffer an' bear
Mi deserve some kindness, some love an' some care.

So listen to mi bark, mi cry out fi justice pure an’ true,
Respect di loyal dog, an’ di love will come through.
Fi di years mi spent guarding, mi ask fi simple grace,
Treat mi wid some dignity an’ put a smile pon mi face!
