Poem
Steady as a rock, firm faith she carries The embodiment of strength, girl power! She reads out her mind like a political novel Confidence is her hidden name and she lives it For she believes it. She is the epitome of exemplification, Doing what she ought to do as she said she would Ready to go against all odds to fulfill her say For the record, her stay counts For the record, she defines a woman; Speaking for the less privileged, Advocating for those in need Her efforts go not in vain with follow-ups; The third mother of her nation! She is a rich fountain of inspiration, To the young girls walking behind their shadows Comfortable as cowards feeding on fish bones, Patriarchy the rule of the game. To the silent women who mourn day and night, For pain fills their cups to the brim, Their broken hearts, she is out to redeem; Her words are perfect comfort to the hurt. To the forgotten society, Redemption she has brought home Like a package mama sent her child to bring. Clearing doubts loitering along the streets of men’s mansions Doing better, whatever men can do She has proven them wrong Oh yes! She has proven anything possible to fighters. Good leaders build the nation, the bad bleed it out That is their duty, their call to office! Majority lie to slumber, so we let them be the dogs they have chosen to be; Guns we coach, awaiting the return of the predators To watch history repeat itself, not to live the past again Just like in the old days, getting ready to avenge the offender He who framed you up to the punishment; Benefits from the hater, he taught you how to fly. It is a heavier load than what ants carry, The resilient determinedly deliver service Sticking their necks to chests like spiders They satisfy the expectations of the predecessors Not to forget the people For when the people have it to their throat, When the people awake to demand for results, When the people finally raise their voice; When enough is enough and there is no turning back, There will be no peace for leaders by deception.
