BLUE LIONS & RED DEVILS Against the Blues, they never lost for many seasons, Red Devils came to the Bridge 4_3 reasons: They came, they saw, they suffered. Tho' they bottled it, sarcasm isn't inferred.4 In Stamford's grand arena, the Blues roared with might, A clash of titans, under the floodlit night. Blue Lion's pride shining, in Chelsea's hue so bright, Their fans calling out, "Champions in our sight!"8 But the Red Devil's fire, burned fiercely in their stride, Each goal they scored, a piercing crimson tide. The stadium shook, with fans' emotions wide, The tension in the air, impossible to hide.¹² As the clock ticked on, the score tied at three, The Blue Lion pushed forth, in a fearless spree. Cole Palmer pressed, with a goal so free, Stamford Bridge erupted, in wild jubilee!¹6 In the dying moments, victory so close, The Red Devils fought, their dreams arose. But the Blue Lion's roar, nobody could oppose, A thrilling finale, leaving fans in prose.²° The battle raged from end to end as it ended Each team presses, so determined to ascend, Goal after goal, it was a thrilling spree, But it ended 4-3, the Blues snatched the victory²4 In stoppage time, as the tension rose. The fans watched with hearts that froze, The Blue Lion's 101 mins strike of fate, Sealed their triumph, causing the match to abate.²8 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ VICK MANUEL POETRY {VMP} FORM: Rhymes Copyright ©?4th April 2024.
