Poem
Tears mingle with pain. her heart breaks as she blinks back the doubts, risking the still essence of heartbreak, trembling, the lonely ache whispering through her, tempting her to walk away, find her own grace in the wings of silence, where fear feeds her morsels of anxiety, singing in notes of what might have been, oh, what might have been! Tears travel through her soul, stirring darkness with feelings who bleed despair, melancholy, lies, who grieve, even though the loss, is beyond grief – it is stone cold as a January night, when the snow drifts in around the soul, letting the wind blow, stealing all the warmth from a fireside of grace, where the lie spreads its rumors, gossiping about a past that is never coming back, a past that plants seeds in the clouds, seeds of hurt, stinging, suffocating the hopes, the dreams, the faith that continues to simply believe. Tears ignite the mourning, singing blues, melancholy falling away, sliding over the life, like the dew on the petal, slowly stilling the moments, the insights into beautiful, where shadows delight, breathing echoes, pain promises, through prayers, to just let go of the past, escape from twilight’s grasp, find the rhythm of light, soothing as God’s gentle smile. Tears, like secret dreams, still the laughter, stirring, dancing beneath her wings, simple yearnings, breathless and risking each faded feeling, as darkness beckons, taking away the melody, so calm, she remembers, nothing can harm her, except the fear that settles in her soul, reaching through her hopes, dimming each blessing, disguising the gestures of life’s choir, the cadence, the beat, the measure beneath the silence, where wonderful knows… tears, though they bring pain, are just as important, with nothing to gain, as the joy that sustains, the joy that shimmers in the dark skies, like starlight and moonbeams, inspiring the night, as it fades beneath the morning sunlight, who feeds the oaks and the pines, makes memories for robins, and songs for butterflies – tears, although subtle – flowing – glowing across dark’s cruel tongue, oh how they shine! Tears are surely divine.
