Poem
There once was a woman named Marie, The most beautiful girl I've ever seen. In the summer of June 2003, I met her once in gay Paree. We had lunch near the Eiffel Tower, Which lasted more than half an hour. This was my first time in the City of Lights; There's much to do and so many sights. We went to the Louvre, the Pantheon, And even got an autograph from Louis Vuitton. We took a couple of selfies holding hands; Next stop is the beach so we can play in the sand. We laughed and got to know each other real well: For the past three days, everything went swell. But by the fourth day, it was time for me to go. "Where are you going?" Marie asked. "I must know." "I'm going back home to the USA," I said. So Marie gave me something I'll never forget. She gave me croissants, baguettes, and potato chips; Then top it all off with a French kiss on my lips. After we hugged and said, "Au revoir", I went to the airport in my rent-a-car. It's been 20 years to this day; My memory of Marie has never gone away. I'll never forget that long flowing hair, Her smile, grace, and savoir-faire. My summer love, this is not the end: Hopefully soon I'll see you again. To be continued...
