Poem
Cry no tears for a country that has no shame, Weep instead for the innocent lives that it has claimed. The names of our innocent brothers and sisters we will never erase, And we continue to sing a mournful song in this place. We will light a candle and keep a glimmer of hope, We will smile through the tears trying to find a way to cope. The blood of the innocent will cry out in the night, And we will keep hope alive yes we will fight. The fatherless children and those made orphaned by crime and violence, They will find a voice and rise up there will be no more silence. Justice will be sought and justice will prevail, Or there will be an eye for an eye as the guilty begin to wail. Fear will no longer rule or cripple this nation, The guilty will finally get a taste of their own potion. And as the last one falls to the ground in agony, There will be no pity, no pity for the one that lives to tell the story. A nation has woken from its sleep, The people are tired to mourn, tired to weep. This message is loud and clear for one and all, No more blood, no more innocent among us will ever fall. This is our country and the mayhem must cease! We will bring the guilty to justice and make them weak in their knees. We will have the power if we learn to unite, No more will grief and despair be our plight. Why should the blood of the innocent be shed in vain? It is time for us to ease our pain. Today we rise up and put our plans in action, Today we weep no more; today we take back our nation.
