Poem

Remaining silent,
I get to take a deeper understanding of who I am,
And I get to bond with the real woman behind by fair skin,
Who is a coward and wouldn’t dare to say no,
But longs for an opportunity to face you, and say hallo!
But, as someone who has taken a glimpse of the outside world,
I say nothing more than,
“You have this under your power and control,
And you can as well be someone;
Without necessarily encroaching on your personal peace,
For friendships that do not last longer than a blink of an eye.”
I tell this small woman who lives within me,
That she needs no one else apart from me,
To function better and make her shine,
Like the diamonds, ladies’ lovers.
I remind her,
That at the end of the day,
It all gets back to her, with her by herself,
And that she needs nobody to live her life;

But, is this not something I have been doing from the start?
Running away from what reality holds,
That we all need somebody?
It is hard to believe,
But it is either that I have become an introvert,
Or that I am just depressed and do not know how to cope!
For what I know is true about company,
Is that it contributes to one’s healing from brokenness.
Yet I am trying to build a wall around my life,
As if trying to put a final stump on my stereotype assumption,
That all people hurt us in the end,
And that they take even the slightest hope remaining.
I do not know who can convince me better than myself,
But I need a helper, to impart some sense into me,
That I need all of you irrespective of whom you are,
For this is what living in this world means,
That I need you as much as you need me!
