Poem
In the blissful slumber, I wished upon the stars, I had wings, A fairy appeared with her magical wand, You will get the wings, you can fly, You can appear anywhere, The magic will last for six hours till sun appears. With magic wings, I dreamed of flying high, The magical sky with so many planets, galaxies, and stars, Never could see from my home in obscuring ambient lights, On this full moon night, I could hear nightingale sings from trees. With magic wings, I wish I could explore natural wonders, I could fly over the amazon forest, over the volcanoes and crater lakes, I can feel the splash of waterfalls, I could watch the sleepy parrots, I could see the ruins of Mayan and Inca cultures, amazed my wings start to flutter. With my magic wings, I was hovering over vast African wildlife land, Over the Serengeti, it is dark in starry nights, Beautiful daylight animal herds are asleep hiding from preying herds, I was amazed, the scenes from Out of Arica movie were playing in my mind. My magical wings, take me to tour the Europe and see its marvels, The Eiffel tower was sparkling with beautiful lights, Stonehenge was casting shadows in night skies, Roman and Greek ruins were reminding me what great culture we had. With my magical wings, I appeared over the skies in India, The tall rising temples in south reminded me of rich arts and culture in ancient days, With the conquering Moghul, and British rules, the passive people lost their roots, The land of Hinduism and Buddhism, where non violence and passive wisdom was way of life. With my time running out, I watch stars fading out, I hurry to the war-torn refugee camps, Millions of people lost everything and in despair, Children crying in hunger, dying with treatable disease, I wish I had the fairy’s wand to give people some relief. With the rooster morning calls, and crows crocking on trees, My wing spell was coming to close, When I opened my eyes, I was stumbling in my bed, I wish I had the wings in daytime sometime soon.
