Poem
In a fleeting moment, the world forever changed, The blink of an eye, a destiny rearranged. Our vessel, thrust upon the rocks with force, By the southern wind's unrelenting discourse. Powerless, adrift in the sea's wild embrace, A shipwreck, a trial, our fate we must face. Many were able, their bodies fit to swim, But few would survive, a chance ever so slim. Countless souls drowned, their lives swept away, Yet fortune did favor some that stormy day. Upon the shore, we stumbled, wearied and weak, An island of secrets, a haven mystique. Silent as the tomb, the air thick with dread, Abandoned abodes, their occupants long fled. We journeyed down a path aptly named "Lonely", Treading with caution, our pace measured and slow. Beyond a mile, a mansion grand did loom, Cedar and maple, cinnamon blooms. Captivated, drawn to explore within, We braced ourselves, our journey to begin. Through the towering golden door, we stepped, Into darkness, where shadows crept. Fog filled the air, vision blurred and unclear, Save for the inscription on the wall, chilling and austere. "Trapped! Welcome to Hell," a foreboding decree, As the door slammed shut, we shivered with unease. Hearts pounding, we clung to one another, Seeking solace amidst the growing terror. The eerie voice pierced the silence, a haunting cry, "You are doomed, mankind," a message most dire. From the shadows, it threatened to emerge, But an angelic presence swiftly did converge. A single strike, the foe vanquished and gone, "Quickly, mankind," the angel beckoned us on. We followed our savior through treacherous terrain, To villages hidden, where hope could be regained. "Go forth, proclaim the gospel, be voices of grace, For you are the chosen, the survivors to embrace. Share your tale of redemption, of a harrowing night, The testament of courage, in the face of fright."
