Poem

I would like to ask Christ 
If he stayed with the shame 
From hanging naked on the hill
Blood dripping from the rib 
Because all the shame within
Hidden well behind my speech 
After I rose on my third day from the abyss
A survivor of the devils deeds 
Keeps  stealing smiles from me

The feeling from within 
Breaks the scales of the butcher's  dream 
Since sleeping with the wind
Empty stomach eating from bins 
Selling empty promises for hip
A bid to atone my immediate sins
Needed more sin helping with breathing
And all the pride remaining in me 
Had me  screaming as life left me 
Eloi Eloi why did you forsake me 

But the prodigal son soon heed 
And woke up quick on his heels 
From his grave he clawed to feel the wind 
Went to his father on his knees 
Let a tear and begged for a drop to sip
By his father's hand he got redeemed
But still he kept it in him 
A part of the streets and the spit 
The shame stayed and is still relived 

Maybe one day the devil will come for him
And he will pay his dues if he seeks peace 
His soul is not well the love is lost to dreams
If he  still carries the shame, 
The preachers cannot pray for him
Christ I mean As for me
I will rot with the trees 
And the plants that will grow on me 
Will be bitter for what would have been 
And the fruits from those trees 
Will be poison for the  shame  I could not speak
