Every day, I keep an eye on them from up above,
Hoping they’ll realize that there’s still good left in the world.
I gave them all free will in the hopes that they’d find love
And not need angels to stand over them, their wings unfurled.

Every day, I keep an eye on them from down below,
Hoping they’ll realize that there’s still evil left in the world.
Instead of love, it’s their anger that I want them to show,
So that I may have their souls and those of their boys and girls.

You really believe love has lost its stronghold?
Only a fool would think the hearts of man are stone cold.
Through poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine,
My children draw closer in tragedy; look, and examine.

Your kids kill each other, lie, cheat, and steal,
Have no respect for elders and say what they feel.
They discriminate, segregate, and rape their youth.
Some don’t believe you exist; now face the truth.

You were there with me in the very beginning,
Charged with leading all of my angels in Heaven.
Greed became your will and the hatred that it brings.
I expelled you from home to live in your world of sin.

I left because I wanted to be my own boss.
I thought my life would be better off without you.
I realize now that I was wrong and it’s my loss,
But it’s too late for me and there’s nothing you can do.

My love for all I’ve created has never waivered.
The ability to change is still within your soul.
No matter what your bad deeds or evil behavior,
Until the very end, I will still answer your call.
