Lily – Shane – Buddy By Franklin Price 07/24/2022 Lily, Shane and Buddy Bringing sunshine to my door In just a couple hours Might just be a little more Driving in Shane's brand new truck Been on the road about a week They're coming here to visit me To look around and have a peek Greeting them with home made tacos Making sure they get their fill They're family not company They'll not be getting any bill Lily is my own granddaughter Shane is her best of friends It could progress to more than that On how things go, it all depends Buddy is a friend to both Walks with them in the parks He doesn't have a lot to say Has no words to speak, just barks They will be here several days Will be visiting with me Whatever they would like to do There are many sights to see They're on an excellent adventure Still have many miles to go I'm one of their many stops We'll have a grand old time, I know Until Later By Franklin Price 7/28/2022 Lily,Shane and Buddy Are leaving here today Their visit has been wonderful Now they must be on their way Other family to visit Other places to explore What a time I've had with them Since they brightened up my door Played dominoes into the night Shane never cheated, he was fun He asked me for my Lily's hand I said yes, you are one We climbed the highest mountain In the Eastern U.S.A. Walked across the bridge of flowers Where the Dirty Dancers played We hiked along the river Broad Shane and Buddy walked across Buddy fetched sticks from the water That the three of us would toss Last night was the last night We finished up by playing scrabble Lily made up several words Shane looked up all her babble It's now early in the morning They're still sleeping 'cross the way They came, with love, to visit Get permission, and to play I gave them my God's blessing For their marriage that's to be They'll continue they're adventures Hand in hand, upon life's sea.
