Poem

I sit in wonder is this a nightmare
Is all the memories all we will share?
I cry when I think that it slipped away 
And there is nothing I can do or say 
To bring you back to my heart once more
Where you would be safe and warm
Yet I replay the day you let me go
Over and over again just so I know,
That I shouldn't hold hope for
Things that may not come once more
I grieve for a loss so great 
That my entire body aches
my heart has been viced 
And cut and diced
Yet I know you didn't mean to
Im crushed from losing you
And my wounds will heal in time
And once more my life will be sublime
I will crawl back in my hole
And rebury my soul
Never to let another that close
Because the Lord knows
I can't do this again
he knows where I have been
And the heartachs I have endured
Now I am reassured 
That love is for the few 
Just not for me and you
