Poem

One afternoon I went digging in my purse
For all the change that I could find
But all that was there in that big empty purse
Was two quarters and two dimes

Not enough that day to buy that snack
And no checks to cash for more
Just two old quarters and two little dimes
My stomach was wishing for more!

OH WELL, I thought I can do without
And went on with work that day
With the change in my hand a paper I tossed
Throwing also the dimes away

Ugh, I said, that's all I had
Oh well it was just small change
NO, MY MIND SOARED, God gave you those dimes
My gratitude must be re-arranged!

How ungrateful I am to throw away
What God has provided for me!
So, Yes, I did, go digging in trash
Where could those little dimes be??

I found one dime but not the other
Give up, past time to go home!
I didn't tell my husband this silly tale
For my embarrassment would have shown!

But you know an amazing thing transpired
After that humble moment in time 
I came home that night and what did I find
But there on the floor, a dime.

I smiled and said, Thank you Lord
You were watching there over me
Then walked to the bathroom and there again 
two dimes staring up at me......

I thought, OK, who's doing this
How could anyone know?
For I was there alone that night
And my foolishness not made known!

On and on it's happened since
That day of little gifts
Not quarters, nor nickels or pennies
Just dimes to leave me miffed

They show up in my washer
There's one by the clothes
Then one behind the coffee pot
And one by my toes

My husband and I have found a thrill
With each dime we come to find
For we know God hears and Sees and Knows
And is with us all the time!   

He talks to us through the little things
If we only let Him in 
The lesson of the dimes has touched my heart		
Because, I have no better friend...
