Distressed damsel left tied to tracks
  Face furrowed in anticipated anguish
Her words screamed in a foreign language...
  An unfeeling locomotive set to wreck...
     Her eyes affixed to oncoming
         catastrophe....

Well off in a distant venue
  looking back through the rear view
A villain smirks in tasteless glee
  Leaving the heroic stage set for me...

Gallantly dashing to free this captive
  Her limbs strained beneath restraints
My hands worked with purposeful dexterity
  all of which was possessed by me
Succeeding in setting her free
  I watched as lady ran frantically

Alongside train, she cried out in vain
 Chasing his madness
Her wasted wailing, a ghostly refrain
  Wrists bled from the rope he tied
Yet she waved those wrists
  and cried...for him

I the fool who covers puddles with coats
  Watching this scene
Cursing all the old anecdotes
  Chivalry isn't as dead as they say...
Willing recipients are withering away!!

Yesterday I bought a length of rope...
