Poem
There you stood right in front of me Close enough to touch, close enough to kiss I didn't have to beg or plead Thought what we had, thought it was you I miss But I came to find Those feelings I thought I was hiding deep inside Was a part of my past I wasn’t sure I was ready to leave behind But seeing you has really helped me to decide Just where I go from here Cuz what I thought I would feel Those feelings I thought I had didn’t appear So now with you I have to be real And what I have to say you're not going to want to hear But sooner or later the truth must come out And for me that truth is finally clear I can't keep living with even the smallest of doubt A part of me will always care But life has led us two very separate ways And the life and love we use to share Has seen the last of its days I thought I could walk away from all this To try to make things work with you But when we shared that first kiss That was when I knew Things with us would never be the same Between you and me I thought to see your face or say your name Would make me see That it was you, that it had always been you But after everything that we've been thru I guess on this we may finally agree Here in this life is where I belong And he is the one who has my heart I know what I did was wrong And I'm trying to make a fresh start But I can't do that if I don’t let you go I hope you understand The truth to you that much I owe None of this was planned A part of me will always love you How could I not You were the first man to ever make me say I do With you I tied the knot And we thought that would last us forever Just because we are walking away I won't ever forget the days we spent together Maybe one day you will find it in your heart to forgive me My dear husband, I do love you But you and I just weren't meant to be!!
