Poem
I hope that you have barricaded your doors and sealed your windows up tight, because there is a train barreling down these tracks that is about to uproot your life The plan is already in motion, the storm is on its way, so I hope that you’re prepared because a tornado named karma is heading your way She takes no prisoners, she is only there to fight, so if I were you, I would make sure that you hold all that is dear to you tight You know what I’m referring to, those skeletons that are hidden so deep in the back of your closet where it’s so dark, well be ready to invite them to the party that is being thrown for the breaking of my heart You will hear her coming blowing in like a banshee, through the trees as she takes away anything that’s in her path, and then tosses it away so carelessly But you know all about this process because it’s what you did to me, you came and took what you wanted and then you blew away on the breeze Well, this time she is angry and it’s time to settle the score, no more living in happiness for you it’s my turn now, open the door What’s the matter you won’t let me in? That’s okay because unfortunately for you I brought with me a friend One that doesn’t play nice with others, which takes what she wants, and what she wants is revenge for me due to all of the pain you brought So now it’s your turn, go ahead and try to run away, she is faster than you would believe there will be no escape She will take what she wants and there will be nothing left in her wake, only your regrets of mistakes that you wish you wouldn’t have made And I am one of those mistakes, maybe the biggest one of them all, because what you did to me back then it wasn’t right at all Promising me a future that you knew would never be, spitting false hope in my face only trying to distract me From the lies, the ones that you not only told me but yourself, well I’m not here to bargain with you so leave your morals on the shelf There is no need to try to play nice now, because karma has come for you, and she is ready to tear you down And I’m sorry but there is no stopping her now that she is enraged, maybe you should have put the book down back then instead of turning the page But don’t fear I promise that all will be alright, I’m only here to turn your world upside down, it’s only right Remember you did this to me many years ago, and I guess that you thought there would never come a day when the collector would come for your soul Well, she is here, and she has had all that she can bear, so don’t start trying to shove your skeletons back in the closet let’s put it all out there Have her step out so that the show can really begin, I’m sure that she has many questions for your lies that know no end What are you going to do when you’re all wrapped up in the wind that you helped to create? Karma is such a cruel thing but it’s a twist of fate So, after the storm settles and she has finally calmed down, and all of your hopes and dreams are left scattered at your feet surrounding you on the ground What are you going to do then? What is it you will say? Will it be enough to make you admit that you were wrong for treating me that way? So, my love what came to me, it all came back around to you, through a tornado called karma by the one that you once loved so true.
