All through life, has this bothered you
Always there but somehow never seen
Maybe shyness, contributed to this condition
Maybe it is just the situation
Trouble beckons, call for invisibility

There are occasions when it offends
standing in queues, waiting patiently
Overlooked again, due to casual stance
Is this the time for your chance
They are your own, inner voice says

Now in adulthood the problem persists
Clothes of invisibility do indeed exist
Invisible clothing on display
Standing at the bar of local pub, waiting, waiting, waiting

Service to the left, right, and even behind you
Speak up, inner voice calls out
You whisper excuses and tell it to be quiet
You do not suffer fools easily

Letting yourself down with this excuse of invisibility
Speak up, speak up, the voice continues
I will, I will, shouting out silently
Your turn it comes, now you speak too softly

I am sorry your accent threw me
Anger swells but is controlled
Are you joining me today my friend invisibility?
Many a time you have walked away

Come back, come back, you hear them shout
You enter your invisible World unable to return
On occasions, returning to The Land of our Father’s
Welcomes are many without any accent problems

Waiting at the bar of yet another Pub
A voice brings you back to Earth
A pint of best bitter quietly said
coming right up without any delay
Invisibility is gone today, inner voice has its say
