because I speak


                IN   

           
        T       oppressors tongue
            H      language of
                E     conqueror


MY IMAGINATION

              excludes 
              my distress

              furnishes 

              NO

              means 

              to bring charges

NO WORD

              for my complaint
    

NOT EVEN

              a prayer



THEREFORE

          I forge       
            a weapon
              from
                s i l e n c e 

 CAPTURE
                      the
                        s p a c e s
                           between                   


       THREAD
            SUNS
                   rake
                   to                       
                   prosecute
             every             
             choral
            
                         to plumb by no measure                                    
                           the Tide·Raw Prayer·Witness
                               of a sinking ·g·O·d·

                               and to
                               those
                               who came before and
                               those
                               yet to be

                       a venge ME
                        mi  eneME
                         bi
                          sa ving his soul

        compels

           a heart

          my complaint is
        the moon
     mist rising


Rise
      bright
    you   sea dusty
      dragons   

your hero
      disguises
     a     sun rapier'
      view

Rise
      bright
    you   hopeful wild
      places


Mammon
      matricide
    pricks  in pacific  
        hues

                                 be spoken

                                 say right the broken
                                 hearts that they may heal

                                 as breath bares light
                                 and dream our understanding
                                 
                                 we charge the spring
                                 to sing beyond mankind

                         WE THE PEOPLE
                           of earth are
     
                           THE EARTH

                         we are the earth singing
                        
              and         
                         we are the song

                         the master song singing
              and
                         the song of the dead


         Sing brightly
                         the song of the damned


         Heal the river
                         beyond mankind
