I hear the words that are spoken
To understand them I do not
I feel the pain that's unspoken
As my heart has cut them off

To many promises were broken
As the lies kept being said 
My mind remains unbroken
But my heart is surely dead
           ~?~
Trampled on by many
This I'll not forget
They say that there is plenty
But my heart will have to shed
           ~?~
The bubble that now surrounds me
Protects my heart itself 
The noose that hangs above me
Hangs with deadly stealth
           ~?~
Forgiving is said to be easy
But not for the damaged heart
It holds on to the negative 
For the mind controls this part
           ~?~
To find the closure needed
To be on my merry way
I hope I find that open door
Before I find my death day
           ~?~
For the heart will surely heal
Is what they always say
But my heart is broken
It is dead and has turned 
A deep dark gray
           ~?~
The mind will keep me going
In ways I do not know
It has become the liar
That's now ecstasy to my soul
           ~?~
I pray to Thee above me 
To return my heart of gold
I fear that He has left me
In the streets all alone
           ~?~
If He's truly listens 
I think I'd like to say
Though my heart may be broken
My love for Him will never decay
