Mans book
I am who I am and I was not born this man 
It’s the things that you’ve taught me
That have raised me to be
Something you don’t quite understand 

You told me what’s wrong and what’s right
But I never learned to use my own sight 
Instead I learnt from you
What’s right to do 
 And never trusted my insight

But you can’t tell me do this and do that
Cause I’ll head out 
With my pack on my back
And find my own way and figure out how to act

But it’s not fun out here on your own
And maybe all it takes to go home
Is to know that what they told you
Was the best they could do 
And they don’t want to be all alone

But if you want to change the game
So that your kids don’t feel the same
Find out like a snowflake 
What makes them unique and great
And why being different is better than being the same

We fought wars against people we now accept
And what are grandparents died for we now regret
Our Gramps can’t ever understand 
Why edo is sold in our land
Because what he gave his life for 
We now order in a store 
But pretend if we write history we can make us forget

Nothing is as important as it seems 
Except a child’s dreams
Cause we will live and die 
For causes we don’t why
Because we can’t see through they‘re eye

But a baby can speak any tongue 
Because when we are born we don’t know one
But they are all raised with some sort of national pride
Because every person has it where they reside
But if we truly want to be one and watch racism come undone 
we have to trade children with any one 
cause they will learn our tongue no matter where from
But we will never do that because we don’t want our child raised in Africa
But if your a great mom does it matter?
If you have faith in yourself
 do you not believe you would be the same if born somewhere else?
