The foster kid was angry as all get out
Everyone was against him; he wanted to shout
He ran from the teacher, the principal and me
We saw him climb the school as far up as we could see

What’s going on? I asked the other two
He hates his life, he is sad, sore and blue.
He has had six foster homes in four years they said.
He told us he hates his life, he wants to be dead.

We called security, they ran up to talk.
It took them hours, and we all had to gawk.
He is a foster kid, lost in a system which has lost its mind.
He was in one home where he was loved, the people were kind.

That mom and dad wanted to adopt him and stated so.
But within two weeks, the foster system moved him to Idaho
A state where he knew no one, and felt completely alone.
He is a foster kid, an unwanted, a boy without a home.
