Poem
A glimpse of hope shined down From the stardust promises Of a Savior and a best friend One who gave me deliverance From the despair that filled me With fear, doubt and dread Darkness that shadowed my joy Silhouettes of trepidation Tormenting hope’s blessings A glimpse of light whispered Across my heart and soul Breathing colors in hues of summer Sunshine yellow, bold scarlet Flowing sapphire moon rising Wrestling with the gloomy sadness Blackening my heart with sorrow Storming through my thoughts With anxiety in flavors of failure A glimpse of faith shimmered Through the clouds of defeat Welcoming gentle raindrops All around the cloudless peaks Where lavender mists with gray Tails caught me up in the beauty Of a rainy day, pouring out blessings On me – through my Jesus’ Love Love that is unconditional, faithful A glimpse of laughter healed me From the loss and grief of mourning When my heart ached with a yawning Dread, a feeling so painful my prayers Were fed by the comfort of knowing Jesus is always with me, abiding There inside my spirit – whispering Miracles, compassion, dreams Beauties beyond comparison, alive A glimpse of love filled me up With promises that I would know Joy beyond compare, feelings So rare and pure they traced Kisses across the edges of rainbow Dawns and embraced my soul With expressions of serenity And bold, brilliant thoughts Of prayers and praise – eternally Grateful for His mercy and grace In a glimpse… Jesus knew My heart, my soul, my truth And He loved me through and through With a love that is everlasting With Him, I know the answers Are found in His Word, where I meet Him in so many verses of truth Guiding me, assuring me, caressing me With faith that knows He lives Forgives and leads the way To a heavenly home – where I’ll Spend eternity worshiping Him In a glimpse…
