be in the moment the wizened ones chant 
be in the moment
be in the moment
don't  peer ahead
and never look back
be in the moment
be in the moment 
the wizened ones chant...

but what if that moment 
is dipped in thick black
a blackness so deep
where devils
eclipses then pinch away 
at your peace
 
be in the moment 
be in the moment
the ancient ones chant
but i say  
only 
if that moment
billows with the gilded winds
of prophets
wielding gentle prophecies
sprigs of hope and forgiveness
and the sweetness of peace 
is that to much to ask
is that to much to ask

and what of the ones
with bellies filled with emptiness
so far removed
from the wonder of stars 
the grace of the sun
the scent of the rose hearted
what of the awkward ones
nonchalantly tossed to the side
forever unloved
who stay in the moment
at the expense of the soul
stay in moments of blueness
under duress
moments unblessed
would you still chant to them
be in the moment 
be in the moment
