Poem

It must be nice to speak of love so fluently
                             without getting stuck in memories
                                       Love is heavy for me
    It doesn't gracefully dance through fields of flowers barefooted with the 
                heat of the day warming my soul with burning desires.
                             I missed out on that phenomenon
                                      
                                       My love is tainted
                                      Singed at the ends
                                  I loved with one eye open.
                                  and with all the lights on.

                              But then Love caught up to me 
                                       my gate was open
                             and he entered with no invitation 
              He spoke of love in parables with wide eyed expectations
                               and I cried between the lines
                              He spoke of love with no faults
                                telling me it has no enemies.
                                     
                                       I felt his approach 
                                Even through my thickness
                   My heart jumped and I lost my train of thought
                                       I fell off balance 
                                        he reached out
                                           caught me
                                            held me
                                   and still hasn’t let go.
