We met at a different time
We fell in love deeply 
But time wasn’t on our side 
Personal matters accrued

Parting with promises made
Sealed with a passionate kiss 
That left me breathless 
Yearning for your tenderness of touch

You became my reason to live for
I longed for the time to be reunited 
I counted down the many days and nights 
Until you come home into my arms forever 

I dreamt of us in splashing joy 
I giggled at times when dreaming of fun things 
That we will be doing together in time
I entrusted my life on promises made by love

The date we set to be reunited has come 
Oh how I’ve waited too long 
My darling I cannot wait any minute longer 
Excitedly I set out and waited for you 

There I sat in the garden 
Under the pale moonlight 
My heart’s beating emotions of joy
Until I was kissed by the morning sunrise 

Scampering mind with confusion 
Delicate flowers greeted me calmly 
Gathering my thoughts orderly 
I found no prints of you around 

You never showed up 
Your kiss and promises were all empty 
Where I burned and trusted you heartily 
Now this pain I feel is breathlessly choking me

I can feel the light in my soul slowly fade away 
I am no longer living 
I am your forgotten dream 
Kissed by false promises
