People that you once met on the surface
Of your eyes
go to the moon never to return
Sex that does not tenderly hurt you
When you think of it
Goes to the moon never to return
Money you never had
Goes to the moon never to return
And the moon has a surplus of flamingo feathers
Once in an age they fall to earth just for you
Then something magical happens to your sadness
It lifts itself up from its bed of dead roses
Where it was trying hard not to be 
This confused crypto creature
That could never understand why it was here
And it becomes an erotic fan dancing 
Being of light
It burns bright then Phut - it’s not there anymore
Because it went back to the moon
And you ask yourself
But the reply is only a kindly silence
Sent from the moon
Then maybe you take a drink to hear it
Maybe you hear your own delayed thoughts
As they travel from that distant place
Or maybe you recall again meeting strangers
You once met on the surface of your eyes
And they now confess that they always loved
The way you drifted on by
