Poem
I sit in worship, facing the brightest star,
like me the dirt below me admires it from far.
The laws dictate the pull of heart
and I narrate my painful art.

Be it I am selfish, her warmth, my only peace,
I am blind to a universe, always on my knees.
Trying hard to find a way to please,
Offered up my soul, to cease a scorching breeze.

High above the ground I witnessed sorrow.
Below me time has fled, none left for me to borrow,
Drowning in a current I could not follow.

Mostly I just hope, my chest is not yet hollow,
Yearning for the pain, that fades, it’s hard to swallow.
Love is such a rush, it molds the way I grow,
Only you could make me wish I slowed the fall.

Verily, I find the mountains before us tall,
Eager to climb high, I would even crawl.
Though I find it hard to even walk,
if you are not the view I’ll come upon.

It’s odd my dream is you and I want you to change.
Mold you into comfort and these times are truly strange,
if only you were my poems, ink drying on a dusty page,
I’d write you calmer than the oceans on violent stormy days.

I’d write my pain away, far from my existence,
I’d erase all characters and boundaries in an instance.
This world will be ours and we will roam as free,
it would be us forever, only you and me.

I would no more desire me to flee,
now simply wish to sit with you, underneath that dreamy grim tree.
I just think of us and how calm the world would truly be,
if it was only me and you and her, my eternal three.

So before all the candles can go out,
your wish set in stone and I not your route,
I’d like to shout just one more time,
your joy’s my joy, so hear this loud.

I hope you’re happy, from the bottom of your soul,
if you’re cold, burn my soul a little more to feel warm.
You are eternally the one, I always admire,
for you I’d embrace the flames and the fire.

You deserve, far more and better than I,
my arrogance bloomed and I rose just to die.
Regardless of all, you gave me a life,
my love is eternal, I breathe for your smile

Smile on and blow out these candles,
make a wish, the world could not handle.
You are a power, a queen, a desire,
be you, fly on and fly on much higher.
