Memories and friends that have all been lost
The price of addiction, an insurmountable cost

The price of addiction, talents misplaced
Remember the runner left out of the race

The tiny dancer gracing the floor
Found no use for the song any more

The once energetic with brush and paint
Became quite happy just feeling faint


What we have done for one more fix
The precious sold and suicide risks


i still hear the cries that I tuned out
Deafening noises from my loved one's shouts 

Now though I have tried new steps
Eventually hoping to climb out of this depth

Though my want and will carry on
The memories I hear will keep me strong

Today my friend I still have fears
For the price of addiction is counted by tears

I look bleak although strong and brave
A tempted addict beside a grave 

Not a word I spoke for the dead
It's hard to think with a clouded head

I will leave to, where I From
While envying the addict who can teach me to run

It was their words though that impressed me so
Now it's too late but you want them to know

So, humble yourself and clean out your head
And remember your here because someone is dead
