Poem

I walk on the dirt road
A suitcase in hand.
A few pairs of clothes
In a variety of colors. 
Red, white, and green, 
I select them on purpose
For I walk light and far. 

Light load on the road, I can see
The grass, the cattails and the daffodils,
They wave as if fairy wind dusting over and 
Tossing my pixy hair. 

In time for me to notice the colorful rocks
That lead me to the stream where my toes feel naked
And I welcome the current flowing. 

Crossing over the stream I find a spot. 
The balmy air is sedative.
The rock has my back
The grass pampers my feet
The wind messages my face
My pixy hair dances in tandem.

A brief reprieve 
For me to look up at the sky
To witness the cloud
Shape a star. 
I trace my name
On it, for the present,
Before the journey edges me on.
