It came so suddenly the choice you have chosen,
It wasn't an intention; none of this seems to be true
It was Thanksgiving Day, and the kids were about it 
I wouldn't say I like it either, or you're not here. I walked away.

Though the tragedy that has happened and the wrong that is,
I must find my way out of this, my placement; I staked it on me
It has been a horrible journey that I hadn't planned to take
That day I turned my back, and I walked on away.

We were already in separation; I was not in preparation. 
I couldn't talk you out of it, this decision that you made
I'm sorry I couldn't make you see; we were always to be that team
I didn't see you differently; I had seen you more appropriately.

Many years later, it's with my disgust,
I understand now; why didn't you trust me?
You were my wife then, 
You still will be my tomorrow.
