Poem

Poems come faster and faster
Once you open the floodgate of your imagination
The world of make believe is more than ready
Bringing for more what ifs and maybes
Than you can organize or manage

In the nocturnal realm, ideas come forth and shake me awake
The subconscious takes over, and I dream away
Waking up with poems prancing out of my head
Hearing the last stanza or the last line
Wondering what the heck I just heard

The pen intrigues me to captivate what has just happened
On an ethereal plane that is well beyond my grasp
I watch the pen scribbling lines, whorls, and dots across the plane
Wondering if it know what it is doing
For I am sure that I do not.
And are these the poems in my dream?
I frankly have no idea.
