Our beloved British Bulldog Bill Our eccentric Our stubborn Our precious boy Eleven years he gave to us pure happiness and joy When finally that day arrived that dreaded day had come For deep inside it felt just like our hearts would break apart and as he looked into our eyes I’m sure that Bill knew too ~ Jim ~ Bill’s vet he kindly came to see Bill in his home Our hearts would break to take him there Bill got so stressed ~ ’twould be unfair As Jim arrived nurse at his side Bill gazed at Jim as if to say ‘Well fancy seeing you today’ Then closed his eyes and gently lay Jim sat awhile as he explained just how it all would be and so we sat upon the floor stroking and saying goodbye Bill rest his head upon my hand as his soul soared to Heaven up high Gently closing his eyes ~ we saw Bill’s demise with tears of love with tears of sorrow for Bill there would be no tomorrow~~~ Later that day we walked by the sea craving solace and tranquillity then just like a gift sent from above we saw the sweetest bulldog pup we stopped we stroked we cried we tearfully spoke of dear Bill’s demise as even the owner had tears in her eyes… ~ but then our tears were tears of joy ~ as we turned to see her precious boy ~ Written with tears in my eyes 13th August 2020 Contest All Pets go to Heaven Sponsor Constance La France FIRST PLACE Contest COMPLETELY YOUR CHOICE 26 Sponsor Brian Strand N/A
