Poem

When Adam and Eve the forbidden fruit did eat, the world was infected with the virus of sin,
The virus affected the mind of its hosts causing shame, fear and accusation to set in,
The man blamed the woman and the woman the serpent,
Like them, we, when confronted by sin find it hard to repent.

Like Covid-19 that is now a pandemic, the virus of sin to this world is endemic,
The pain, misery, and destruction it causes is sometimes catastrophic,
Killing large numbers of victims in a single occurrence,
And far surpassing the Coronavirus in terms of its prevalence.

Just as the physical effects of a Coronavirus infection can be very serious,
The infection of the sin virus has to the human race been deleterious, 
Sickness, death, wars, and famines that result in mass starvation,
Are some of the manifestations of the sin virus infection.

There is no cure for Covid-19 and for most of humanity’s maladies,
But the Lord, God almighty who is the source of all remedies,
A solution for the virus of sin has already designed,
Twas for this reason Jesus came to earth and suffered and died.

So, while the Coronavirus is causing many to despair, 
There is no reason the virus of sin to fear,
Just receive the vaccine of the blood of God’s Son,
And you will be saved when life here on earth is done.

Soon the pandemic will be over, and life will return to some semblance of normal,
It is not clear what the new normal would be like.
But when the virus of sin is defeated, we know death will take a hike,
Because those who are saved will then become immortal and with Jesus enjoy life eternal.
