Have You

Ever wondered how it happens?
How the last person stays, 
How they make sure, everyone else gets out?

Ever wonder why?
Is that important? 
As long as we are safe, 
does it really matter who sacrificed;
or more specifically or…
even more importantly what or even when?

The forfeit of something for someone else, 
worth a value, more than your own life…
Is resoundingly heard in heaven. 
The angels listen closely for all such solemn songs.
Jesus gave his life for all of us. 
He stands in the fire beside us…
Even now!

Shout out the shadows, 
that gather along the edges of your faith. 
“You there… Be afraid!
My God is near and it is you that should fear…
My Lord…He is with me, 
and I AM SAFE.”

Peace. 
That is what they have. 
That man that holds the door, for the last to make it through, 
the one that gives to others, and does without, 
the one that stretches small things, into big differences, 
for many at his own expense…

They…
those men… 
and women… have peace.
