Poem
(Rewritten excerpts of The Pied Pipers of Hamelin in today's political scenario) Folks, They swarmed the nation, in every location. They fought like dogs, and slept like logs, and pricked the other as if hedgehogs. They were led by some clever sly duper, who kept them needy, broke and pauper. He squarely plundered all the riches, and left the folks in distress ditches. All the folks were utterly vexed, and more than ever were so perplexed. Then they chose a saintly figure, who promised the nation would soon be richer. The folks, quite hooked to his charm, offered him a welcome warm. Tall folks, short folks, fat folks, fair folks, Lean folks, mean folks, stupid folks, cunning folks, All the folks followed him, and danced quietly at his whim. As he played a lovely tune, folks realized pretty soon. That they stood at the ocean's brim, and their future never looked so grim. Here they could only sink not turn, reached a point of no return. Coz' the holocaust he had brought, was worse than famine, flood or drought. And the Pied Piper, flute in hand, at a safe distance did he stand. The one last thing they did discern, that nation's well being was of least concern. The only aim was the thousand guilder, of which he had been a mere crusader. But alas! It was a bit too late, they had already sealed their fate. The ocean soon came rumbling over, And the dumb folks weren't heard of ever.
