Poem
Strawberry Fields Forever I have used words and phrases from the Beatles song ‘Strawberry Fields Forever’ in order to create the Desired effect in this poem. How beautiful it must be, Let me take you down, Just you and me, For no one else is In my tree! Misunderstanding is easy If you live with eyes closed, You see, Nothing is then real, Why become someone Who is trying hard to feel, It doesn’t matter Much to me. Why get upset if nothing is real, Why get hung about it, I know when it’s a dream, Nothing is real, For me does seem, That it’s all wrong, But I think…no ... yes, My thoughts are strong, As I think I disagree I want to be free, So I’m going to Strawberry Fields, But as nothing is real, I don’t want to yield, And become a buffer zone, A human shield! Strawberry fields Forever was Inspired by The Salvation Army Children’s Home, Where young ones were safe, And protected and did not Have to roam, This song was recorded in Nineteen sixty seven, Fans thought Strawberry Fields Forever, was just heaven! If we look through the Lens of LSD as did the Beatles, Sure that John Lennon later, Turned to needles, This ‘avant tout’ group thought, No-one was up their tree, “Are we a group that is genius, Or are we crazy or seamless? We merely see differently to others, To the world’s sisters and brothers.” The Beatles were so cutting edge, For their time, Mass hysteria from young girls, And some boys, Parents and grandparents Were wary of the influence Of these young men, With no poise, Who made a lot of noise! This Beatles song was considered As one of the Greatest pop songs, Ever recorded Throngs, Of people ever present When ever the Beatles were So much as just mentioned!
