“Hear My Words”

Are you listening. 
I am saying things very clearly. 
You need to keep trying. 
Are you talking to me?
Am I talking to you? 
Are you answering? 
Yes… Yes… You are!

I see that now. 
I did not know I could do all that you have asked. 
I put my feet upon the path, yet the movement forward…
was torturous and slow, alarming and fearful, 
for myself and my family. 
How can I be responsible for others? 
For so many? 
The load…

What will be expected of me?
How far short will I fall of your need?
I pray. “Carry me.” 
Bear all that you have given me. 
The burden, the joy, the gift the delight…
Speak your words, not mine, 
Use me for all ends, that You have means of…
I serve. 
I humbly serve. 
I gratefully kneel. 

Yet…
I can not speak. 
Speak for me. 
Speak your words from my mouth, 
that I may know to my soul, all I say…
is from You.
is true.
