Poem

Once impaled by persecution-puncture
My soul did wallow in misery’s pain
Beseeching for mercy’s rescue gesture 
Only God could grant along His grace-gain.

Impaled with discontentment’s grievous stab
Piercing my heart, sorrowing midst crises
The Saviour reached out to me in love’s jab
Showing me His rich supply that blesses.

At times impaled by bitterness’ sharp stake
My spirit would succumb to hatred fall
The Lord be thanked for His revival wake
Quickening me to yield to His love-call.

When impaled midst inescapable woe 
Seemingly helpless in despair’s distress
My mind, subdued by skepticism foe
Found succor in Christ, the shielding fortress. 
	
From being impaled, I rise… triumphant
As my faith clings well to the Almighty
He enables me to be jubilant
In serving Him with praise-sincerity*.

*Joshua 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth…
