It’s nights like these where I miss you most. 
The silence pierced through my mind like a dagger. 
I don’t hear your laughter or your voice. 
I don’t smell your scent lingering anymore in the room. 
The time we spent was riddled with imperfections,
We fought almost all the time,
But I still loved you. 
I still love you. 
I miss everything about you. 
Years we spent together, 
Knowing everything there is to know about each other. 
We took it for granted. 
I took it for granted. 
Now that you’re no longer here,
The realization hits harder than it ever has. 
I miss you. 
I miss your touch,
I miss your kisses,
I miss things we haven’t done in years. 
The thought that I lost you,
Keeps me from sleeping,
As I toss and turn restlessly in our bed. 
I’m making progress to fix my mind,
I’m making progress to fix myself. 
But it’s nights like these where I miss you most. 
The warm air reminds me of our times spent in youth,
Laughing and talking until early morning hours. 
Sitting outside your house,
Talking about anything and everything. 
I miss you most tonight. 
I’m sorry for every single thing I put you through. 
I neglected myself for so long,

Trapped in depression, I let the one thing I love slip away.
