Poem
I could never predict The path you would choose So much you could gain But instead you would lose. So many lies you've told Because of your guilt Destroying our lives And everything we've built. You just wanted to trap Hoping you could gain Being with a guy Who didn't feel the same. The testing that was done Would prove you had lied Wanting him so much For anything you tried. The moment you found out Never having shame You did nothing wrong Not taking any blame. You're little baby's life A hefty price paid Selfishness you showed By the choices you made. The feelings that you lacked No mother you'd be For these were your words Just wanted to be free. The truth you'd always hide Putting on a show When people would leave You'd tell me "here you go." You wanted your old life For this you would say "Please take custody" "And I can go my way." The day we went to court An oath you did take Giving up your rights You knew what was at stake. Your request was granted By the Judge you'd meet After the hearing You asked to go and eat. My emotions were raw And not in the mood Yet your only thought Was to go and get food. I showed you and taught you To bathe, change and feed Not wanting to learn Never feeling the need. It was more important To party and drink Leaving your daughter Of yourself, you would think. So very excited Move to your own place Lying to family Just so you could save face. The days that you'd visit Were only a few You'd make something up Say "you've so much to do." You asked us to adopt At the bank we met Signed all the papers What you asked for you'd get. Always liking drama To others you'd cry "They took my baby" Knowing that was a lie. The adoption final Time for a fresh start But all of your lies Tore the family apart. The pain that you have caused The hurt that we feel Our hearts you have broke Don't think we'll ever heal. Turned family against us You'll text them all day Convinced them we're wrong They'd believe what you'd say. The lies you hide behind Hope one day you'll see Demons will haunt you The truth will set you free. All of the destruction You've caused through the years You have no remorse Not shedding real tears. Giving away your child Came easy for you Your heart, cold as ice In all you say and do. The decisions you've made Our son we did lose Lost our granddaughter Believe your lies he`d choose.
