In Honor on Remembrance Day, November 11 - Canada

Remember them who lay in rows and rows where poppies grow, and
enjoy this life because many died to make it so;
mother's weep for a child no more, represented by the Silver Cross Mother,
and echoing canons can be heard in the distance, and
many have bowed their heads to cry . . . 

Bring yourself to silence wherever you are at eleven in the morning,
when the ringing out of bells, will sound eleven times,  
those who stand in honor will be set in stone at the war monument;
now, eleven jets fly over in an azure sky-   thundering . . .

Days have passed and pages have turned yet we remember them,
and now it is time for prayer and quiet contemplation;
yes, let us pray in this hallowed place for peace in the present,
and on the grave of the unknown soldier we place our red poppies,
do not ever forget their great sacrifice so we could live in harmony . . .
 
Now wreaths of remembrance are being placed on the war monument,
oh, on this day it is hard to be happy in this sacred, sad place, and
for all military,  I send my love and pray you come home safe;
       "and the sound of pipes and drums drift along city streets, echoing" . . .
