An Icon known as Michael Such a shy and gentle child Arriving all singing all dancing Where he came from nobody knew For he was from another World Too fragile for ours, he became unfurled He danced like his idol Fred Astaire Loving the voice and moves of James Brown A perfectionist, unique in every performance He was always the Talk of the Town His dancing was flawless, exciting to behold His singing was truly divine Losing his childhood the price that he paid Only happy when performing live on stage How sad no one cared enough How sad there was no one to trust To give him advice when he took the wrong road No one showed him the love That on others he bestowed How sad not to love himself As he changed the face God had given So often I have asked why Is there someone who should be forgiven His father too harsh and controlling For a gentle, shy soul like Michael Destroying the love he should have for himself Michael wanted to change, but didn’t know why Becoming a man, he didn't even know His spirit destroyed, so sad to see him go To bring you back in a heartbeat So healthy and alive To hear you sing and dance again To take away your hurt and pain Would be a dream come true To watch you perform one more time You were taken away far too soon Are you now dancing up on the Moon? Moonwalking each day with ET For MJ and ET my two favorite boys Now together, forever, for eternity Written for competition - Who would you bring back in a heartbeat Sponsor: Caren Krutsinger 2nd place Contest Strand Select E Sponsor Brian Strand HONORABLE MENTION
