Waiting Before the Throne of God The year was, 1972 and at 2:11 a.m. that Jessie Wayne Martin was born into this world. He was born to Matthew and Kathy Martin and would become the baby of the family of three boys and two girls. The Martin family was a church going family and Jessie’s parents were very active in their local church and served as elders there. Jessie on the other hand never had any interest in the things of God. His parents thought that he would out grow this attitude when he got a little older but, all the way through grade school and junior high and high school, he would tell them no, I am not interested in knowing Who God is. So Jessie finished his education and planned to go out and play. He got a job at a local factory and moved out into his own apartment and bought his own car and had a circle of friends who were drinkers. He would come over periodically to see his parents who became more and more concerned about his lifestyle. He kept in touch slightly with his siblings who all were married now and had children of their own. Strange thing though, Jessie was still rebellious about the things of God no matter what was said to him and no matter how everyone was praying for him. Jessie’s parents bought him two Bibles, one when he was a young boy and one for his graduation hoping, that maybe he would have a turn-around in his life. His parents kept on believing God for his salvation along with his brothers and sisters but, no change. They kept asking the Lord what to do but, no answer would come to them. One late night while driving to his apartment drunk, he was hit head on but another drunk driver. The truck that hit him was going 80 miles an hour and totally demolished Jessie’s little Honda. Jessie was instantly killed and now found himself in a twinkling of an eye in an endless line of people waiting to speak with God Almighty the One from Whom he had run from all his life. As he was waiting in line, he was rehearsing in his mind what he was going to say to God. He was thinking well I have a good heart and I am a hard worker at my job and I have never really hurt anyone and I certainly have not stolen anything but, all the while he was moving forward. He kept thinking well, okay I have committed fornication and tried drugs but hey I am only drinking beer or wine now that is totally accepted by our society! I am sure He is not going to send me to hell over just that! But then he remembered what his parents had told him about Jesus but he just did not care, he wanted it his way. I know I know, I attended church all during my youth and I went to camp meetings for the youth and even went in to talk to our pastor, but I didn’t want that kind of sissified life like all my family has! As he was thinking this to himself he saw he was so close now and he saw that God had been handed the books and opened them where his name was. This was not the Lamb’s Book of Life but, these books contained all of the sins that he had ever done! Oh no I am totally undone now! Just then God asked him a question and Jessie knew that he had to plead guilty because He had written all of his sins down yet he didn’t want the Savior and His Blood which would have washed his sin all away! “What do you plead” God asked and Jessie pleaded, Guilty! Then God spoke to two angels who came over to him and took hold of his arms and led him to Hell. Jessie’s parents had gotten a call from the police department advising them that their son, Jessie Wayne Martin had been killed in accident. That night, they both cried themselves to sleep. Now let us think about the fact that our God gives us a choice and it is up to us where we will spend eternity, Heaven with Him or Hell with the devil. The Lord Himself, sent His Son to earth to die a cruel death on a cross, for US! All we have to do is accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and claim His blood for our sins so that they will all be washed away! We pray and ask Jesus into our life to save us and lead us in our way on this earth and serve Him until He comes to get us or we go home to Heaven in the meantime; but He could come at any time so there is no time to waste.
